Saturday Sun, Morning Cool

Today was the type of morning that drew me from the clouds and rain of Seattle to the sun drenched fields of Southern California. The temp dropped to more reasonable and refreshing levels this morning. The turnout was good too. Rich and his brothers showed up, and that always makes for a competative, fast paced morning. Both Hunter and Kyle dropped in, and apparently they live fairly close to the park. Unfortunately, Kyle ssustained a minor injury that caused his early departure.

Congratulations to Hunter who graduated from high school and will be joining Kyle at the University of San Diego. We are all proud and honored to know such fine, focused young men. Obviously following in the footsteps of the older brother, Rich. Hunter will also join Kyle on the football team as a wide reciever. I say the Toreros will have an impressive pair of wides on their team. I hope the basketball coach gets a look at the both of them too.

I that Rich was off in Palm Springs last weekend soaking in the 114 degree weather. I guess the cooler weather we had in the Inland Empire didn't extend to Palm Springs. Thank God Rich made it back this week un-singed.
After the final game, Steve, Eric and I dropped by the grounds at Chapparal. fortunately, we encountered the superintendent for the current construction activities. Apparently, the courts are scheduled to be completed by this coming Saturday (August 14, 2009). Robert will verify this and email everyone during the week if the courts are not ready. But, from the looks of things there, completion is feasible and likely.

If you continue and view the pictures below, you will see that the courts are up with new backboards and rims.

Currently, there's a mound of dirt on the court and a few trenches that will need to be filled. However, the on-site Super says that they will resurface and re-stripe the courts before the end of this week. So, all indications are that we will return to Chapparal.

New backboards and rims.

Eric looks over the courts at Chapparal.

See you all Saturday at Chapparal!!!
