One may wonder why I feel that this past Saturday was special. To that I would say that there were a multitude of reasons. Some of these speak to the outdoor recreation aspects of the day, some do not. Here they are:
- The day started cool and overcast and about 65 degrees according to the corner banks automated sign.
- The sun eventually broke through, so we were not completely shrouded in a full day of clouds and gloom.
- The turnout on the courts was exceptional, there were over thirty people that showed up this past Saturday morning. And, there were no major injuries.
- USC played Washington in a D1 collegiate football game. Miracles do happen, Washington finally won a game against SC. I attended Grad school at UW during its glory days in the late 70's. It was a pleasure to see a ray of hope in the program again. USC will rise again and end up in a major bowl game by the end of the year, so you SC fans, bear with me while I have my fifteen minutes to bask in the hope of the UW program. After next weeks games perhaps the universe will correct itself and SC will return to its march to glory. Many thanks to SC for Sarkesian, he's a pretty good coach.
- There's been a new addition to the family this day, welcome to the world Kay!!!
The new trend at the court is that everyone seems to be leaving early. A few of us sat around after the games and reflected on that recent phenom. Everybodies gotten busy on thier weekend morning. Well, it's okay, just keep coming out when you can. But, I and others don't get to play against or with you. But I should talk, I seem to show up later and later. Everyone have a great week and be sure to drop in next week!!
