Second Saturday in October Brings Fog

Today is like an autumn day in Seattle, and I can’t say that it’s not welcome. Everyday we wake up is a good day. But it just reminds me of the disappointing loss last week by the Huskies to Notre Dame. UW couldn’t tackle worth beans and as a result, they lost to Notre Dame in overtime. If they had won it would have been their first win in eight tries against the Irish. I do feel they got robbed on a touchdown call, but “them’s the breaks”.

The turnout today was terrific, two courts going with a few folks waiting. It was about as good as it gets with the turnout. I think we should routinely have three courts active, but maybe that’s wishful thinking. I really appreciate all you warriors that fight your way out of bed on these sleepy Saturday mornings to battle it out on the courts. There were a few folks in attendance today that may have been absent for a few weeks. Remember guys your always welcomed back even after years of absence. All is forgiven. It was good to see Randy, Brandon, Sylvester and Scott back on the courts again!
I believe that we all come to Chaparral because everyone comes to this court with the right attitude. I believe sportsmanship means everything when it comes to sports, one can be bigger in body and talent but I think it far more lasting and meaningful to have a big heart, mind and generosity. Let’s keep it going here at the Chaparral.
Many, many thanks to Nick Delafu’s Mother for bringing him out to the court Saturday morning and for the doughnuts she treated us all to when she returned to pick him up. I hope she and everyone else out there in the WBA universe has a great week!! See you this coming Saturday, take care.
