Day-After Thanksgiving Basketball - Friday, November 25, 2011 - the Usual Morning Time - 7:00 AM

There has been a "call-to-basketball" for the day after the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will get together to burn off a few calories and perhaps get over a little of our frustrations with the inability of the individuals involved in the NBA's labor negotiations to come up with a resolution that spells a 2011 - 2012 season. Unfortunately, there is no true alternative, although I know many of you PAC12 followers will find a team to follow whether it be the Bruins, the Trojans, the Huskies, Cougars, the Cardinal, Ducks or whichever team that satisfies your fancy..... And then, of course there is the participatory WBA. You don't have to sit and watch - you can be a part of the action!!

Please come out and throw down some hoops with the faithful on Friday morning at the Chaparral. Hope to see you there, but in the meantime - have a very, very Happy Thanksgiving!!

Get Well Soon - Zachary Delarosa

Unfortunately, Victor's son and our buddy, Zach, was involved in an automobile accident on Thursday, October 13th around 2:00 pm near the campuses of Mount San Antonio College and Cal Poly Pomona. The car was totaled but Zach sustained somewhat minor injuries. Once you see his car you can appreciate why one would assess his injuries as being minor, because the car looks pretty bad. But he has a pretty significant injury to his left arm. It required several stitches and a skin graft. Victor says that the doctors have a portable pump attached to the arm to remove excess fluid and to prevent infection.

If you read the article, you soon realize that the accident was pretty horrendous. His car actually flipped over the median strip. Thank God he is alright and he will be able to continue his studies at Cal Poly Pomona while he recovers. Please keep Zach in your prayers for a speedy recovery and rapid return to the Chaparral....
